Wilson King Foundation
I would like to thank Mrs. Willa Allen for her past years of service as president of the Emma L.
Wilson King Foundation. I am humbled and excited to continue working with Ms. Allen in her
new role as Treasurer along with other Officers and the Board of Directors and its Associates
who have been part of this incredible organization.

As all of us have had to readjust our way of living because of the Covid-19 experience there
continues to be numerous challenges as we strive towards strengthening our mission. We are a
grass-roots community non-profit organization in East St. Louis working collectively in
educational giving, provide simple clothing to children and restore a magnificent old lily-pond
fountain as a regional educational destination.

Over the years, thousands of dollars in scholarships have and continues to assist students at
accredited colleges and universities. Similarly. Middle and Elementary School pupils continues
to be awarded warm winter coats. Expanding our outreach by collaborating with other non-
profits in the area will be an increasing effort the Foundation will pursue to best maximize our
giving campaign for East St. Louisans most in need.

The Memorial Fountain at Jones Park remains our signature project not only as an historical
landscape site but will be a Foundation connection providing guidance to high school students
in water-gardening, horticulture and environmental protection in a unique urban park setting.
It’s an honor as Mrs. Emma L Wilson King’s youngest child to have your trust and commitment
to our vision and goals. We are excited about 2022 as the years of planning will yield honoring
our mother by breaking ground at the fountain site in what would have been her 100 th birthday.
One of the most important aspects of the Foundation has been to ensure those values of
service and giving to the community is practiced and paid forward as our mother instilled in
each of my siblings. Please browse the Foundation website and review some of the inspiring
leaders the Foundation has honored over the years, archival news articles, coat and scholarship
recipients and other information.

I hope you will take the time to help support our efforts by making a generous tax-exempt
financial contribution to our cause to inspire East St. Louisans.
Enjoy the Foundation website. Pass our website onto your family and friends as you become
part of the Emma L. Wilson King Foundation.

Sincerely,

Mia King
President
Emma L.
