Professing an early belief in Christ, Emma was baptized at Chapel Hill Baptist Church.<\/p>\n<p>At age eighteen, she married her lifelong partner, Willie Francis King.\u00a0 Two years following their marriage in 1941, they moved to Knoxville, Tennessee.\u00a0 Almost immediately thereafter, Willie was drafted into the United States Navy.\u00a0 Following his honorable discharge, the family moved north to Edwardsville, Illinois.\u00a0 Always professing towards a better future for their children, the Kings decided to ultimately locate to East Saint Louis, Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>She served as a homemaker.\u00a0 And while many overlook this unappreciated profession, its importance was never lost on her heirs.\u00a0 She led by example, instilling the qualities in her children that made her so special; strong, warm, and giving.\u00a0 She was a people person who never judged anyone.\u00a0 She taught her family to cherish bloodlines, those by birth as well as those of the extended family.<\/p>\n<p>She was a \u201ccommunity property\u201d mother who served as a mother and taught to many.\u00a0 We never knew that we were poor, because the lessons she taught in life made us spiritually wealthy.\u00a0 Simply put, she was the best wife and mother anyone could have and we were blessed God chose her as the vessel to bring us forth.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">More Information About Emma Lou Wilson King<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/emmalkingfoundation.org\/AboutEmma_2013.pdf\">2013 &#8211;\u00a0A Message about Mrs. Emma L.
